Job Title: Assistant Director (Admin & Coaching Role)
Location: On-site at schools and park districts in Western Cook and Will Counties

Reports to: Executive Director
Hours: Flexible with some evenings and Saturdays required

About Soccer Shots:
Soccer Shots is a leading children's soccer program that teaches soccer skills while emphasizing character development, soccer skills, and fun. We seek an energetic and organized Assistant Director to join our team. This role combines administrative tasks with coaching duties and requires strong leadership skills in training, hiring, and working with children ages 2-9.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Director is an entry-level position that supports program operations and delivers high-quality coaching to children. This part-time role (up to 25 hours per week) will require 10-15 weekly coaching hours, possibly increasing hours based on program demand. The position also includes up to 10 hours of administrative work, which varies weekly depending on the season. Our classes are held Monday-Friday between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm and Saturday mornings between 9:00 am and noon. We are closed on Sundays. Classes are assigned based on an instructor's availability; administration work is work from home.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in working with children.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain a strong company culture.
  • Passion for developing children’s athletic and social skills in a positive environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A self-starter who can work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Some weekday, evening, and Saturday availability.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching:
    • Lead and assist in coaching sessions for children aged 2-9, focusing on fun and educational soccer experiences. The curriculum and equipment are provided.
    • Follow Soccer Shots curricula to implement age-appropriate drills and activities.
    • Adjust coaching strategies to meet the needs of each child and group.
  • Administrative:
    • Handle scheduling and bookings.
    • Respond to customer inquiries and manage communication.
    • Track attendance and session feedback.
    • Organize and support during marketing events.
  • Training & Hiring:
    • Assist in recruiting and hiring new coaches.
    • Provide training and development for new and existing staff.
    • Foster a team-oriented environment with a focus on quality and consistency in coaching.
  • Program Management:
    • Monitor the program’s progress, ensuring it meets educational goals and company standards.
    • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and program quality.
Compensation:
  • Starting pay: $20 per hour.
  • Compensation review after 6 months and again at the year mark.
Hours:
  • 10-15 hours per week dedicated to coaching (can vary depending on the demand of the program)
  • Up to 10 hours per week for administrative work.
  • Total weekly hours will not exceed 25 (including coaching and admin).
