Soccer Shots is a youth soccer organization for children 2 – 8 years old that works in childcare centers, preschools, elementary schools, and public spaces, and we’re looking for a Director of Staff to manage, lead, hire, train, empower, and support our coaches in the Reno/Sparks area.
Qualifications

As Director of Staff, you will be the primary contact for Soccer Shots coaches – you can’t shy away from talking on the phone, in fact, you should enjoy it! Communication skills are a must, and while you don’t need to be Shakespeare, you should be able to write thoughtful emails with correct grammar and punctuation. This role will require you to make hard, quick, and clear decisions. And while we do have fairly standard operating hours, this job isn’t a punch in/punch out job – we serve coaches and families all day, every day, even on the weekends, so the ability to be flexible and answer emails/calls as they come is NECESSARY.
You will be expected to become a master in coaching the "Soccer Shots way", and you will need to clearly communicate, train, and empower coaches to do the exact same. Part of this role will require you to coach a maximum of 15 of your own sessions at childcare centers, preschools, elementary schools, and/or public parks. These sessions will also be used to help train new and veteran coaches.
Responsibilities
You will be expected to become a master in coaching the "Soccer Shots way", and you will need to clearly communicate, train, and empower coaches to do the exact same. Responsibilities
- Coach up to 10-15 sessions per week as needed based on business need
- Implement the company’s high standard for coaching, and develop a team of high performing coaches.
- Work with leadership team to ensure seasonal coaching needs are met.
- Responsible for ensuring coaches have a positive impact in the organization’s NPS scores.
- Ensure all coaches complete our training process.
- Responsible for creating a culture representative of Soccer Shots Core Values within the team.
- Responsible for schedule completion each season.
- Responsible for planning, preparing, and executing the seasonal coaches' meetings.
- The job description above is a full-time, exempt position requiring a minimum of 40 hours of work per week.
As Director of Staff you will also facilitate coaching get togethers. Culture is a big deal for us, you will need to get creative with ways to ensure there is a healthy work culture with all of our coaches. Finally, you need to understand and enjoy working with children. Coaching will be a part of this role, so understanding the “why” behind what we do can’t be accomplished unless you have mastered coaching. Developing a strong understanding of what we do on the field is vital for all parts of being a coaching coordinator
