About Soccer Shots
Soccer Shots is a nationally recognized youth soccer program dedicated to delivering premier soccer experiences that positively impact children's lives.
Our San Diego East County franchise partners with preschools, elementary schools, and public parks to bring high-quality soccer instruction and character development to children ages 18 months–10 years old.
Our coaches are positive role models who help children build confidence, develop character, and create lasting memories through soccer.
The Role
We're looking for energetic, responsible, and dependable individuals who enjoy working with children and have a passion for soccer.
As a Soccer Shots coach, you'll lead age-appropriate soccer sessions using our predesigned curriculum while adapting activities to the needs of your students. This is an active, hands-on role where you'll run, play, demonstrate activities, and engage with children throughout each class.
Whether you're interested in early childhood education, youth mentoring, coaching, or meaningful part-time work, Soccer Shots provides opportunities to learn, grow, and make a positive impact.
What You'll Do
- Coach approximately 10–20 classes per week, depending on availability and program needs.
- Lead soccer activities for children ages 18 months–10 years old.
- Follow and execute the Soccer Shots curriculum while adapting activities to children's needs.
- Use games, demonstrations, movement, and play to keep children actively engaged.
- Encourage character development through positive reinforcement and early childhood education techniques.
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment for every child.
- Communicate professionally with families, caregivers, and teachers.
- Attend monthly coaching meetings and training sessions.
- Represent Soccer Shots professionally at preschools, elementary schools, public parks, and other community locations.
What Makes a Great Coach?

- Energetic — comfortable being active and bringing enthusiasm to every session.
- Patient and encouraging — able to connect with children at different ages, abilities, and developmental stages.
- Reliable and responsible — committed to arriving prepared and on time.
- Adaptable — able to follow a structured curriculum while adjusting to the needs of each class.
- Positive role models — committed to reinforcing confidence, sportsmanship, respect, and positive behavior.
- Professional communicators — comfortable interacting with children, families, teachers, and teammates.
Requirements
- Ability to run, play, and actively engage with children throughout a class.
- Ability to lift and transport sports equipment weighing approximately 40 pounds.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to drive to classes throughout San Diego East County and surrounding San Diego communities as needed.
- Availability for at least two weekdays (Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday) and Saturdays.
- Ability to make a 1-year commitment.
- Proof of a TB test within the past two years from the date of hire, OR proof of a negative TB test within two weeks after the date of hire.
- Ability to provide a cleared fingerprint background check.
